Burt Keltner, CEO
Prairie Community Hospital has played a very important part of my life: I was born in what is currently the back half of the Dining Room (originally the OB department, of course). Also, my mother worked as a Licensed Lab Technician, first for the Clinic in the late 60s, then later for Dr. Krogstad in the hospital in the 70s and 80s, so it was also an important economical part of my family, as well. This is the organization that stitched my daughter's wounds together after being attacked by a dog; the people that worked CPR desperately on my father on his last day of life.
I now have the pleasure of being a part of this wonderful facility, and have enjoyed the challenges and joys it has presented. My background is extremely diverse - from agriculture, construction, finance, writing, retail, food service, oil-field, office supply, entrepreneurship - and no other industry has used every skill and ability I have like healthcare has. The difficulties are elaborate and complex, sometimes unreasonably so, but the rewards are gratifying like no other.
I am proud of my community, and grateful at the opportunity to serve it in this capacity.
